Philip's 2nd Case — Attempt Murder — Police Report Client: Philip, Accused Youth Police Report: On 11 August 03 Gary R. and the youth (Philip K.) called up the victim and said they had some weed to smoke and they attended his residence. They smoked the weed and then sat around watching television. Gary R. got up off the couch when Philip K. attacked the victim and began stabbing him repeatedly. The victim was trying to fend off the attack with his arms and was yelling: "Stop! You are going to kill me!" The doorbell rang and Gary R. was already at the back door leaving the residence. With the ringing of the doorbell, Philip K. stopped the attack and left the residence through the back door as well. At the door were the victim's two good friends who were horrified when the victim opened the door and was covered in blood. They rushed him to York Central Hospital at 10 Trench Street in the Town of Richmond Hill. The victim underwent surgery to repair his lacerated liver, diaphragm, and stomach. A number of other wounds were stitched. He is expected to recover from his injuries. Philip K. is currently evading his arrest. A warrant in the first will be issued. *** SUPPLEMENTARY *** On 12 August 2003, the accused sought in this matter attended 2 District Front with his father. At 0750 hrs, the accused was arrested by Detective R*** in the lobby and was charged with the offence of aggravated assault. The accused was placed in interview room #1 where he spoke to duty counsel and where he provided a sworn video statement to Police. The accused will be printed and processed for a show-cause hearing and will appear before the proper authorities today. *** SUPPLMENTARY *** On 13 August 2003 at approximately 1715 hrs, a search warrant was issued by Newmarket Courts to be executed at 18 Jaguar Street. The search warrant was signed by a Justice, authorizing police to search the dwelling house for gray sweat pants, gray shirt, and gray and blue uptown running shoes. At 1841 hours, police attended 18 Jaguar Street and spoke to Julie K. (Philip's sister). Police showed the warrant to Julie and gave her a copy of the warrant. At 1845 hrs, Police seized 5 items of clothing from the accused's bedroom closet as well as a gray t-shirt from the floor beside the bed. Also, 3 items of clothing were seized in the laundry room downstairs. Police searched the remainder of the house, including the garage and the shed in the rear yard. The father of the accused was on scene and advised of the warrant. At 1924 hrs, police seized all clothing as evidence and transported the clothing to 2 District Headquarters. The clothing was placed in paper bags under property tags. The bags were then placed in locker #1 of 2 District property room. The clothing is to be held pending further investigation as possible evidence. |
