Philip's Case — Attempt Murder — Recovery Statement

I was raised as a normal child growing up in a good environment. I had many friends and loved to play on the street in front of my house. Then years went by and I grew older. I entered high school which brought forth a wonderland. This was something new for me — a whole new world filled with temptations which led me to my downfall. I did not know what was in store for me, getting high and having fun was all I did.

The abuse got worse as the days grew older. I started visiting people and places that were not so good. These eyes that God so gracefully gave to me have seen too much horror that this wonderland has to offer. A mother holding my hand in wonderland slowly let go and I was all alone, a lost child in this wonderland that I didn't like anymore — a lost child with no sense of right and wrong. A father doing whatever it took to save his son but nothing worked. Nothing could take me out of this wonderland. Suddenly, I felt cold metal around my wrists with two big men holding me side by side, soon to be thrown in a room with metal bars called a cell. Damn, it was hell yet again. I fell once more. My father asking me if I want help holding a phone, gazing at me through a thick piece of glass; I said yes, I had enough.

Well here I am twenty three months later, came in a boy seventeen years old with my head down. Now I am nineteen and as a man now leaving D*** [the treatment facility] with my head held high. Freedom for me is finally out of this wonderland with the help of D***. Thank you.
