Pascal's Case — Sexual Assault — Testimonials

Let's face it. Your typical lawyer doesn't exactly evoke a squeaky clean image. But, then again, Craig Penney is not your typical lawyer! When I first met Craig, my life was in a shambles. I had just been charged with three very serious offences. I had never been charged with anything before and I was extremely frightened. I knew there was a very real possibility that I could go to jail and I wasn't sure if there was anything I could do to stop it. I also knew I needed a lawyer but didn't know where to turn. I saw Craig's ad in a local gay publication, which at the very least put my mind at ease that I wouldn't be judged on my homosexuality. Upon our initial consultation, I began to tell Craig about my situation. He was kind and friendly and very sympathetic to my plight. He made me feel at ease, so I felt comfortable in confiding to him. This was a very unique and challenging case, one for the record books I'm sure, and I could tell that Craig was very interested in meeting the challenge. Craig recognized that I had been caring a heavy burden for a number of years and was in serious need of counselling. He referred me to a wonderful psychiatrist whom I still see today and who has allowed me to come to terms with the demons of my past, accept responsibility for my actions and to release the pent up guilt I have been holding on to so tightly. My case took 17 months to come to trial, and Craig kept me informed and up-to-date on the proceedings all the way through, making himself available at any time to answer my questions or concerns. At the trail is when I got to see a true professional at work. He was amazing! He got the charges dropped and I plead guilty to only a minor offence with a year probation, but no conviction. Considering the odds against me, this was a major victory. I never thought a lawyer could have such an impact on my life, and change it for the better. I can never thank you enough Craig!
