Jed's Case — Assault (Domestic) — Police Report

Police Report:  On Monday June 16th, 2008, at approximately 5:20 p.m. the accused and the victim became involved in a verbal argument over the victim needing the key to the apartment. The victim wanted to go to a fitness club and the accused wanted her back at a particular time. When the victim refused to tell the accused what time she was going to return, the accused became angry and assaulted the victim by grabbing her by the arm and pushing her against the wall. The accused then grabbed the victim by the throat and began to choke her. The victim broke free and called 911 from the washroom. The accused waited in the living room until the police arrived.

Police attended and the accused was arrested without incident. The victim suffered minor bruise to her right bicep.

The victim agreed to attend the station and provide a KGB statement. During the video statement the victim informed police that on two other occasions she was assaulted by the accused but did not report the incident to police.

Charge #2 — ASSAULT

Sometime between April 1st and April 30th, 2008, the accused and the victim were at home when they became involved in a verbal dispute over the house key again. The victim went to a friend’s house for Yoga class and when she returned they became involved in a verbal argument over the key resulting in the accused grabbing the victim by the throat and choking her. The victim suffered no injuries and did not report the incident to police.

Charge #3 — ASSAULT

Sometime between January 1st, 2008 and April 30th, 2008, the accused and the victim were at home when they became involved in a verbal argument over the accused not wanting the victim to go out with her friends. The argument escalated to the point where the accused assaulted the victim by slapping her in the face. The victim suffered no visible injury but remembers ringing in her ears. The assault was not reported to police.
