First Letter to Donald's Employer6 June 200* Ms. Snow White, Human Resources Manager RE: Client: Donald V. Dear Ms. White: Thank you for discussing Mr. V.’s situation with me today. As promised, I have spoken to Mr. V., and I can report to you as follows. As we discussed on the telephone, Mr. V. is understandably concerned about the aggressive manner in which the meeting on 25 May 200* took place, and the cloud of suspicion that now surrounds him as a result of this meeting. Mr. V. feels that he was bullied and intimidated at the meeting on 25 May 200*, and wishes in no way to repeat that experience. As a result, until your investigation is completed and Mr. V. has been cleared of any wrongdoing, Mr. V. will not be attending personally to be interviewed as part of this investigation. At the same time, however, Mr. V. appreciates that he remains employed, and he does not want to act insubordinately. Mr. V. wants to cooperate with your investigation, but he would like to avoid being the object of any bullying or intimidation. To assist you in your investigation, therefore, I would please ask you to fax me a list of whatever questions you would like Mr. V. to answer as part of your investigation. Mr. V. could then respond in writing, supplying whatever information you needed. I understand that this suggestion does not accord completely with your protocol, but I would ask you to consider the atmosphere of intimidation that occupied the meeting on 25 May 200*, and to further consider allowing Mr. V.’s input in this investigation to proceed as we have suggested. Once again, I thank you, and I urge you to contact me if you have any questions. Yours sincerely, C.J. Penney |
