Dolly's Case — Fraud (employer) — Police Report Client: Dolly, Accused Police Report: The accused before the courts was employed by the M*** Store located at 32 Billybob Road in the City of Richmond Hill. The duties of the accused included working as a cashier, dealing with the sales transactions of the store customers. On Friday, March 17th, 2006, the accused was working as a cashier on register #10 in the M*** Store. At approximately 4:34 p.m. a customer attended at register #10 where the accused was working. The accused selected several items of merchandise produced by the customer and scanned these items through the point of sale terminal. The accused then pretended to scan thirteen other pieces of merchandise through the point of sale terminal, which never registered on the stores sales system. The customer then produced a credit card as payment, the accused entered a sale of $22.18 into the sales system. The credit card charge was authorized, the customer then left the store with thirteen unpaid pieces of merchandise. Total Loss: $287.88 [Note to Reader: This is the first of six almost identical police reports, each alleging frauds on the separate days. The total was just under $2000.] |
