Dean's Case — Assault & Weapons — — Police Report Client: Dean W., Accused Police Report: On the 24th of December 1999, the Accused and victim were at their residence. The Accused accuses the victim of taking medication belonging to the Accused. The Accused becomes verbally abusive. The Accused becomes aggressive, throwing the victim about the apartment. The victim was also struck by the Accused in the left eye with a fist, causing a cut to the victim's eyelid, requiring stitches and treatment at hospital. As a result of being thrown about the apartment, the victim struck her head on a piece of furniture, causing a contusion to the back of the head and bleeding. Weapons were seized from the apartment for safety following the arrest. Upon seizure, police discovered unsafe storage of weapons: no trigger locks; unlocked cabinet; and ammunition in the same cabinet. Victim's Injuries: Back of head trauma, causing haemorrhage. Cut and swelling to left eyelid. |
