Chester's Case — Driving Offences — Arrest Statement
I, Chester C., hereby confirm that I have instructed my counsel, Craig Penney, that I wish, as soon as possible, to provide a compelled statement regarding the above incident, as I am required to do so by section 199 of the Highway Traffic Act. However, I do not wish to be otherwise interviewed or questioned by the police regarding the above matter, nor do I wish to make any statement other than the statements I am required by the Highway Traffic Act to make, nor do I wish to give any other evidence. I have instructed Mr. Penney to draw up this document so that any police officer who attempts to take any other statement from me or otherwise attempts to obtain evidence from me can be informed of my wishes. If any statement or evidence is obtained from me, it will be without my consent and will not be free or voluntary. Any queries may be directed to Mr. Craig Penney, Criminal Defence Lawyer, by telephone at 416 410 2266 or by e-mail to craig@craigpenney.com. I also wish to immediately exercise my right to counsel. Please allow me access to a telephone so that I may contact Mr. Penney. If Mr. Penney is unavailable, I request that the police hold off questioning me until I have had an opportunity to speak with Mr. Penney. Signed: Mr. Chester C. |
