Andre's Case — Theft Over $5000 — Police Report Client: Andre S., Accused Police Report: The Accused man before the Court, Andre S., has been employed with a [telecommunications company] for the past twelve years. He presently works as a Data Installation and Repair technician out of the South Tower situated at 450 Bauer Street in the City of Toronto. On the 24th of March 2001, at approximately 9:03 a.m., the Accused, Andre S., attended the [storage] area located at 450 Bauer Street in the City of Toronto. Once there, the Accused entered a storage cage that he had no right to be in, removed several pieces of telecommunications equipment, and left the area. Total value of equipment taken on this date was $7351. No property was recovered. On the 31st of March 2001, at approximately 9:03 a.m., the Accused, Andre S., attended the [storage] area located at 450 Bauer Street in the City of Toronto. Once there, the Accused entered a storage cage that he had no right to be in, removed several pieces of telecommunications equipment, and left the area. Total value of equipment taken on this date was $2200. No property was recovered. On the 31st of March 2001, at approximately 2:30 p.m., the Accused, Andre S., attended the [storage] area located at 450 Bauer Street in the City of Toronto. Once there, the Accused entered a storage cage that he had no right to be in, removed several pieces of telecommunications equipment, and left the area. Total value of equipment taken on this date was $1800. No property was recovered. The above thefts were captured on video. On Tuesday, the 17th of April 2001, the Accused man returned back from vacation and walked into the arms of the waiting police. The Accused was arrested and transported to 52 Division for further investigation. The Accused admitted to taking telecommunication equipment from the [telecommunications
company] and selling it. |
